When doctor Arthur Morrison was diagnosed with terminal cancer he had only a few weeks left to live. His grown up and successful son, Blake travels to Yorkshire to stay with his mother in the village where he grew up. Blake recalls their shared experiences, the intimacies and the irritations of their relationship and questions the nature of the bond between them, articulately between a father and son.
”Anand Tucker achieves the near-impossible by delivering a movie that is as engrossing and emotionally powerful as Morrison’s book. It is a film likely to strike a chord in almost everybody”

Amazing Grace is based on the life of antislavery pioneer William Wilberforce, who, as a Member of Parliament, navigated the world 18th Century backroom politics to end the slave trade in the British Empire. John Newton, who composed the classic music piece Amazing Grace, is a confidante of Wilberforce who inspires him to pursue a life of service to humanity.
Elected to the House of Commons at the age of 21, and on his way to a successful political career, Wilberforce, over the course of two decade, took on the English establishment and persuaded those in power to end the inhumane trade of slavery. On his side was William Pitt the Younger, England’s youngest ever Prime Minister at the age of 24, who encourages his friend Wilberforce to take up the fight to outlaw slavery and supports him in his struggles in Parliament.

THIS DIVIDED STATE
If you think that the American population rests in harmony, united in a common perception of democracy – you couldn’t be more... wrong! When the controversial film maker, MICHAEL MOORE, was invited to speak at the Utah Valley State University. The invite to the heart of the Bible belt lead to both violent protests, attempted bribary, hateful arguments and even death threats, contrary to any normal perception of normality and democracy. On the surface a population of ordinary decent citizens, but just below the polished surface lies a beast, completely beyond ordinary reach...

“Taxi Driver meets First Blood in the Midlands. Compelling. Brilliant. Genius” – Uncut
The festival favourite DEAD MAN’S SHOES about to be released in Scandinavia
Shane Meadows’ hard hitting revenge drama DEAD MAN’S SHOES has played in Scandinavian’s major film festivals and will soon be released to general audiences.
DEAD MAN’S SHOES’ successful festival round started already in November, 2004 at the Stockholm Film Festival. This year it has already played at Copenhagen International Film Festival in August as well in Finland at both Espoo Cine in August and Helsinki International Film Festival, Love & Anarchy in September. The festival round will be completed at Bergen International Film Festival prior to Norwegian premiere in October, 2005.
The film stars the charismatic Paddy Considine (“Britains Robert de Niro”) as an ex elite soldier Richard, who returns to his small hometown in British Midlands after eight years absence.
He seeks out the town’s low life criminals – a bunch of drugged scoundrels and losers – who have earlier tormented his retarded younger brother, who was left behind when Richard went to serve in the army. When the story folds out, we realise that Richard is out to punish the guilty, who have committed an injustice, which normal law enforcement perhaps couldn’t define. Richard goes about his business in a professional and cold way, which is certain to chock the audience until the surprising but at the same time inevitable end.
The director Meadows borrows from many well-known revenge films, but avoids their clichés and while constantly surprising the audience, creates a film of genuine anguish and angry pain.
DEAD MAN’S SHOES will have a theatrical premiere in Norway on October 28th and in Sweden on November 4th, 2005.
“Meadows’ best work to date. Fuelled by Considine’s staggering, terrifying performance” – Time Out
“It’s a very confident piece of work, and Meadows impresses a directorial signature on every scene” – The Guardian |

John Malkovich's already critically acclaimed debut as a director, THE DANCER UPSTAIRS, had a theatrical premiere in USA on May 5th, 2003, and the run is still expanding. Mr. Malkovich is known as one of the most versatile actors of our times and THE DANCER UPSTAIRS proves once more how multi-talented he is as an artist.
This English speaking film is a story of a policeman Agustin Rejas in a Latin American nation, hunting the mysterious guerilla leader. In the midst of the chaos the policeman falls in love with a mysterious dancer and is forced to choose between love, family and loyalty for his country.
The role of Agustin Rejas is played by the rising international star Javier Bardem.
Some quotes from international media:
"Impressively shot by Losé Luis Alcane, this film is partly indebted to the political dramas of Gosta-Gavras, whose "State of Siege" was a model. Well received in festival and test screenings, the political thriller opened in the UK in December, 2002 to glowing reviews" - Movieline International
"THE DANCER UPSTAIRS resonates with the emotional intelligence of Graham Greene" - The New York Times

”Y Tu Mamá También” (”Og Mora Di Også”) had a very succesful theatrical premiere in Norway on June 21st, the midsummer celebration weekend. Even though this weekend is traditionally not a big cinemagoing time, the film gathered over 3.500 admissions and landed as one of the top-5 films, among the strong holdover titles.
In UK ”Y Tu Mamá También” has already broken the record as the most popular Spanish speaking film ever. If this will happens also in Scandinavian countries remains to be seen. In any case we can say that ”Y Tu Mamá También” has already put Mexico firmly on the world map as a film country, as well as it has secured a star status to it’s three young stars.
The world audience can for example look forward to seeing Gael Garcia Bernal to play young Che Guevara in a film, which will be directed by acclaimed Brazilian Walter Salles and will go into production later this year” |
